Wilf Walker OBE

Played a key role in shaping the Notting Hill Carnival we know and love today - and it all began with one historic move to bring live music to the streets. He is responsible for the first stage to promote local bands which featured Aswad, Alton Ellis and many legendary acts. It is because of this introduction that wounds were healed between the local community and the police after the 1976 riots.
